Membership
Thank you for your interest in becoming part of the Thalian Theatre Company.
You can join us at any time of the year and membership will be for one year.
Though modest in size, our company consistently delivers productions that exceed expectations. This is made possible by the dedication of our backstage creative teams, our exceptional front-of-house volunteers, and our talented performers who bring each production to life in a venue seating around one hundred, typically over five performances. We welcome all who audition (and those who have no intention of auditioning!), and while not everyone can be cast on stage, there are countless opportunities to contribute through the many creative, technical and front-of-house roles that are essential to every show.
Auditions and Show Fees
All auditions, when required, will be held at the Thalian Theatre in Welwyn Garden City. An audition selection panel is elected by the Thalian Theatre Company committee to judge the performers and make selection recommendations to the Thalian Theatre Company committee. The Thalian Theatre Company committee reserve the right to make the final selections. All performers must be fully paid up members of the society to take part in any show or rehearsals. To assist with show expenses (costumes, orchestra etc.) a show fee may be requested. This fee may vary between main character roles, cameo roles and the ensemble. Show fees must be paid well in advance of the show date. Show fees can be paid in instalments if agreed by the membership secretary.
