The Wiz Launch, Thursday 19th January

I hope this finds you all well, having had a very happy Christmas and New Year.
I am writing to update you on what the Thalians have been doing and to give you information about our next show.

On the back of our successful performances of Calendar Girls in October, we put on a Christmas show in December, after an unprecedented six week rehearsal schedule. Many of you appeared in the show, and many of you came to watch and support us, which resulted in a healthy profit for the society. This will be put back into the pot and used for some of our current projects, including a new sprung stage floor and a continuation of our lighting upgrade.

I am pleased to announce that our next show will be ‘The Wiz’, loosely based on the classic Wizard of Oz story, with funky tunes and a more adult feel. You may remember the film, starring Michael Jackson and Diana Ross, back in the Seventies.

Show week will be the week beginning 29th May ( school half term week).
The Wiz launch party will be on Thursday 19th January at 8pm at the Thalian Hall, when Mandy Sayers, our Director, will outline the show, characters, etc.

On Monday 23rd January there will be a dance/acting/audition workshop, also starting at 8pm.
On Thursday 26th January there will be a music rehearsal with Peter Farrell, our Musical Director, at 8pm.
